GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT: CSR ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY LSG SKY CHEFS-BRAHIM’S SDN BHD (22 September 2010)

1. LSGB “Berbuka Puasa” ceremony with the less fortunate group

In conjunction with this year’s holy month of Ramadhan, the staff of LSGB paid a visit to Masjid Al Muadzam Shah, Muadzam Pahang for a “Berbuka Puasa” ceremony with the less fortunate group. The event, which was organized with the cooperation of the JKK Muadzam Shah and the Committee of Masjid Al-Muadzam Shah was officiated by Yang Berbahagia Senator Dato’ Maznah Mazlan, Deputy Minister of Human Resources, the ADUN of Muadzam Shah. The event was also attended by the local community and the less fortunate people.

At the ceremony, LSGB presented various contributions to the less fortunate group. The contributions were presented by the CEO of LSGB and the General Manager, Human Resources. In addition, LSGB also contributed a donation in the form of cash of Ringgit Malaysia Five Thousand to the Nurhidayah Muadzam Shah Welfare Home. At this joyous event, the staff of LSGB worked together with the local community to prepare the buka puasa meal and to set up the place. The event was enlivened with the nasyid performance of the participants of GEMS as well as the ramadhan recitals of the LSGB staff.

The aim of this event was to foster good relations between LSGB and the local community and to promote LSGB’s contributions to the welfare of the community. It is hoped that the contributions would lessen the burden on the less fortunate group.

2. Graduate Employability Management Scheme (GEMS)

In an effort to support the government’s aspirations to reduce the rate of unemployment in Malaysia, LSGB, through the Human Resource Department agreed to participate in the Graduate Employability Management Scheme (GEMS) Programme. GEMS, which was founded by Khazanah Nasional, is a programme which allows a participant to undergo six months’ training and employment at LSGB. Throughout the duration of the training, Khazanah Nasional will provide the participant with a monthly allowance while LSGB will provide training and working experience in a real-life working environment.

Fourteen GEMS participants from Bachok, Kelantan and Kuantan, Pahang were selected to undergo training and employment at LSGB upon an interview session held by the management of LSGB. The participants will be assessed based on the duties given. The programme began on 5 July 2010 and will end on 4 January 2011. Participants who show promise and excellent results will be offered permanent positions in LSGB upon completion of the six month training period. It is hoped that this programme will help reduce the rate of unemployment in Malaysia.

3. Distribution of Bubur Lumbuk to staff in conjunction with Ramadhan

In conjunction with this year’s holy month of Ramadhan, LSGB continued with its traditional Corporate Social Responsibility Programme with the distribution of Bubur Lambuk to its staff. The distribution event was held on the 20th of August, 2010 at the LSGB lobby and was attended by the management of LSGB, who helped distribute the Bubur Lambuk to the staff at the end of office hours. The aim of the ceremony was to foster better relations between management and staff and to raise awareness on the management’s part towards the welfare of the LSGB staff. Beginning at 4.30pm that day, one thousand portions of the Bubur Lambuk was distributed to the staff during the event.

4. LSGB management and staff “Berbuka Puasa “Ceremony

On 20th August 2010, LSGB held a “Berbuka Puasa” Ceremony for management and staff at the LSGB hall. The event, which began at 6.30 p.m., was attended by the CEO and the staff of LSGB. The event was held to foster better relations between the management and staff of LSGB and to present donations to the single mothers and orphans of the staff of LSGB. The contributions were intended for their reparations for the forthcoming Hari Raya celebrations. Entertainment for the night were nasyid perfomances by the participants of the GEMS programme and also recitals by the staff of LSGB.
