BHB group secures all the relevant approvals from the Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment, and the Sarawak Government Land and Survey Department (Kuching Division) to commence construction works on its sugar refinery production facility
 

 

Reference is made to the Company’s acquisition of 60% equity interest in Admuda Sdn Bhd (“Admuda”), which was completed in July 2012.

 

Further thereto, the Board of Directors of the Company is pleased to announce that Admuda had on 10 October 2013, received all the necessary approvals from the Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment, and the Sarawak Government Land and Survey Department (Kuching Division) for the Proposed Sugar Refinery to be located in Demak Laut Industrial Park, Kuching, Sarawak (“Production Facility”).

 

The Production Facility, which will have a revised rated production capacity of 180,000 metric tonnes per annum of refined sugar, is positioned to cater for the demand in East Malaysia. Based on the above, the refinery, once completed and operational by year 2015 is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of the BHB group.
